March 23, 2020 COVID-19 Update

City Hall Council Meeting:

The Council Meeting on March 17th will still proceed at the usual time, however attendance will be very limited in order to comply with Governor Inslee’s six-foot Social Distancing rule.  We ask that unless you are required to come to the Council meeting, please watch the meeting live at, or after the meeting concludes at  We are looking into alternative ways to communicate the results of these meetings in the future, should the restrictions stay in place.  Thank you for your patience.

Benton City Hall Closes Facility to the Public

Benton City Hall will be closed to the public starting Wednesday March 18th. This closure will remain in effect until further notice.

Due to concerns regarding the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), Benton City Hall will be closed to the public starting Wednesday March 18th.  This closure will remain in effect until further notice.

The City of Benton City offers some convenient self-service payment options including: either online or via the smartphone app, place a check in the drop box outside of City Hall at 1009 Dale Ave. Suite A or you can call and pay with a card over the phone.

 For assistance with account information, setting up new service or other general inquires please contact City Hall at 509-588-3322. 

Crews are still available for water leaks and sewer backups please call City Hall at 509-588-3322 between 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM Monday – Friday or non-emergency dispatch 509-628-0333 outside of the hours listed above.

The City of Benton City is monitoring information from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding COVID-19 and following federal, state, and local agency recommendations.  At this time, it is recommended you take the same measures you would to prevent the spread of a cold or the flu by following CDC recommendations.
